The Selection by Kiera Cass
The Selection is a novel about a teenage girl named america who is enterd in a contest to become Prince Maxon's wife and Queen of Ilea. America wants nothing to do with this contest because of her love Aspen but is forced to by her parents who would need the money. America is in caste 5 while Aspen is in caste 6 which forbides them to be together. The lower you are the richer you are. The lowest number is 8, while the highest number is 1. America and Aspen break up because Aspen wants the best for America and they still love each other. After staying a few nights at the palace America and Prince Maxon agree just to be friends , but to not elinminate America so her family could recieve the money. After spending so much time with Prince Maxon, Prince Maxon starts to fall in love with America and America is starting to do the same. When ex boyfriend Aspen becomes a guard at her palace America doesn't know where her heart lies.
