Southwest Airlines
I last flew with Southwest on March 30th, 2019, on a flight back from Tampa. I have flown with Southwest about ten times in my life. Overall, my experience was great with a few setbacks. Let’s start off with the benefits. Most importantly, the cost is manageable, the flight was comfortable, the flight attendants were friendly, and the service was great.
I couldn’t find much wrong with Southwest when I flew with them. My flight experience was enjoyable. Comfortability is important because I don’t want to sit uncomfortably for hours, and it would have made the experience much worse for me. From the seats to the service, everything was worth the price. The flight attendants were friendly, offering drinks and passing around pretzels and cookies. The on-flight wifi was a nice touch for someone that is bored. They had live television, television series, movies, messaging, and flight information. It could keep someone busy longer than they needed.
There was one thing I found that I didn’t like but it is what works best for Southwest, and that is the plane boarding process. You call to get your boarding number 24 hours before takeoff. They have A1-30, A31-60, B1-30, B31-60, and C1-30. Our flight left at 7:15 and we called Southwest at 7:25 the day before and we were stuck with C21, C22, and C23, which is one of the last to board, giving no chance to get three spots together. Most of the spots left were middle seats between two single passengers. With candor, we were told in advance that this might happen.
Because of the free baggage, comfortability of the flight, and the friendliness of the flight attendants, the experience turned out to be a fantastic flight.
