My Hair, My Power” review.
The article “My Hair, My Power” written by Jennifer Switzer is a really encouraging, uplifting article. Jennifer did what she felt was right and shaved her head bald, and in the process freed herself. When Jennifer wrote, “Yet, she can reserve a private power when she is freed from the standards of conventional beauty and her confidence and worth has the opportunity to come solely from herself,” She says on how its ok to break the roles of women having long hair. Jennifer found her own style and did not let people stop her. She expressed herself in her own way. This article left me feeling happy about myself. I feel like people who are low in self-confidence should read this article, just like how Jennifer found her own confidence when she wrote, “Looking at myself in that exposed state, I could accept that I was beautiful.” People should be able to feel happy being themselves, and I feel like Jennifer captured that perfectly.
