A Night Out at Revere's Tavern
In the small, dainty town of Delafield stands only a few dining options for those in the area and those visiting. However, although your options may be limited, that does not mean you have to settle for less than amazing quality. Off the main road of the town stands a large building with ambient lighting that lines the sides of the restaurant. The staircase and large doors welcome you inside from the bitter cold nights of Wisconsin and into the warm, upbeat atmosphere of Revere’s Well Street Tavern, a locally owned pub restaurant and bar that is a favorite of many locals.
Inside, the friendly host immediately greeted us and led us to a table located in the middle of the huge and grand restaurant, with lots of woodwork and soft lighting. While part of the restaurant is a bar area, filled with high top tables and TVs playing sports games, the other part is made up of several rooms filled with dining tables. The multiple rooms allow for more privacy, especially those in the back of the restaurant.
After being seated, a waiter, smiling brightly, came over shortly to take drink orders while our table looked over the large menu. Filled with appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other American cuisine, there is an option for everyone. As the restaurant is known for their burgers, I ordered their All American Burger, a simple angus burger on a toasted bun with cheese, tomato, and lettuce, which came with a heaping side of haystack onion rings.
The food arrived promptly, and the portion was well worth the price of only $7.95. The burger was cooked perfectly to order, and the thin, crunchy onion rings were addictive. Everyone at my table greatly enjoyed their food, which ranged from burgers to wraps to the fish fry. The fish fry was cooked with quality cod , and came with a hefty portion. The caesar wrap was filled with delicious grilled chicken in a classic, creamy caesar dressing, and just like the burger and fish fry, came with a large portion of onion rings.
Another aspect Revere’s is known for is their live music that performs on a regular basis. The restaurant hires a variety of bands to come in once or twice a week to play music at night for their guests. The entertainment varies in genre, from acoustic to pop to rock, but all will fit the atmosphere of the restaurant and will draw you in to listen. They play the music at just the right volume as to not interrupt your night, but still add to the feel of the restaurant and set the mood for a good night.
Overall, the experience at Revere’s was a great one for a Friday night out. Casual enough for a typical night out, but high quality and nice enough for a bigger event, it is a great place for many occasions. If I had to complain about anything, it would just be the slight noisiness of the restaurant when sitting near the bar, but that is what gives the restaurant its charm, which isn’t found in many other restaurants in Delafield. Unlike other restaurants in the area, Revere’s consistently delivers great service and quality, without the expensive price tag of some other places with comparable quality. So next time you’re deciding on where to go for a night out, decide on Revere’s—you won’t regret it.
