Famous People
I wonder what is like to be a person of great renown,
To have a shelf of honored books,
To have the chance to wear that crown,
And praised by societal looks?
Had they once been a victim of some abuse,
That they so brazenly overcame?
Were they tools in some scathing misuse,
Should it matter, all the same.
In comparison, I use a more simple word,
One not sheathed in holy breath.
I was not born a flightless bird,
Nor have I tasted death.
Why people are famous, I’ll never understand the reason,
They seem to be born, though of a different season.
