As the Sand of the Hourglass Falls
The sand runs down as I think to myself
About the time our brown and blue eyes met.
It took so long for me but nothing could help
Heal the pain that our different paths were set.
I loved you so dearly and so truly.
It killed to hear you did not feel the same.
From the mouths of my best friends then surely
That was as close to the truth as news came.
And now you say what’s in your heart, what’s true.
You’ve felt the same ‘bout me all along?
A whole year wasted ‘cause I had no clue
You have loved me too and my friends were wrong.
The sand keeps falling in this hour glass
As we laugh at all the time that has passed.
