B.S. - Bachelor of Sonnets
If I must make a decision today,
If matters of life must be written in stone—
If all of my plans should be thrown away,
Then give me the comfort that lacks in my soul.
Three simple years and this should have been done—
One major is simple and easily planned.
A master’s degree starts at age twenty-one
When Jesus puts nothing like this in your hands.
The doubt in my mind cripples ev’ry thought
As I sit in general science—bored.
I wonder what I’m really meant to take on—
If I can finish in the standard four.
But Jesus put this sole task on my heart—
A Bach’lor of Science and Bach’lor of Art.
