Sweet Shortsightedness
No, we have never tread the beaten path,
Neither have we stood with the faceless throngs,
In a world of greed, violence, and wrath,
Out of thy mouth proceeds a timeless song.
A love like ours can never be tainted,
Nor crushed under the heel of grief or woe,
An artist of renown, had he painted,
A portrait of love, could not match our show.
Sunset in thy eyes, sunrise in thy lips,
A thousand angels adoring thy face,
The goddess of love from her goblet sips,
She envies our love, ours only to taste.
I love thee, my dear, and may it still be,
That your love will ever be aimed at me.
