You and Me
Though we've endured the worst of the worst,
When both our lives were seemingly cursed,
And through our lowest lows together,
When we may question if this is forever,
And during those times of dismal hope,
When it can be nearly impossible to cope,
And as the fights were scurrilous,
When the relationship took on a cruel sickness,
The once overwhelming fever would die,
The anger would flee with no time for goodbye,
The vehemence--that fire, would swell in our eyes,
Knowing it was there all along in disguise,
And it is then that we both realize,
This was meant to be, just you and I.
