Time's Henchmen
I detest you, you despicable clock
Stick twitching not intending to forgive
Critical tongue clicking: tick-tock, tick-tock
Reminding us we’ve but seconds to live
We may have thousands; we may have but one--
A woodpecker taps on an hour glass
Beak as dangerous as a roulette gun
Or as slowly killing as CO gas
So I shall switch you with digital
And be rid of the relentless tick-tock
Pixels and numbers make no noise at all
Silent and deadly; a python’s neck lock
By eliminating the nuisance of din
I partially ignore time’s henchmen
