He Lies
He leans over to give me a kiss
Telling me how much he missed this
But when I look in his eyes
I see all the lies
My heart just breaks inside
Because all this time
He kept me to the side
While she became his life
All those times he said he wanted me,
All those times he said he loved me,
All those times he said he missed me,
Yeah? Well, I was a fool
But now I see, he’s a tool
I’ll pick up my heart
Maybe even restart
But the worst part is,
I’ll forget the day
I looked in his eyes
And discovered the lies

The inspiration for this one came from my past experience. Always trying to find someone to love and someone who will love me back was hard. Eventually, you learn to see through their lies.
