Turn off the lights, close the door

Can’t see anymore

Hear the drums, the sound of war

But I can’t ignore

The way it felt when you said I was yours

Now I’ve crashed on the shore

I know you’ve said this before

So I’m tightening the armor

I’m tightening the armor

You said this is over, you said you were done

But I know in your heart I’m still number one

So sing me this melody, this melody of hate

Pull out your new strings, and I’ll hear you just play

Play on; play on the strings of your favourite guitar

Play on; play all the notes of this broken heart

Short of breath, on the ground

I can’t hear a sound

Black and blue, all around

Test what you are allowed

Rain will fall, splashing down

The Sun hides behind the clouds

Come out, come out; he’s no longer proud

You find her flame has drowned

You find her flame has drowned

You said this is over, you said you were done

So why am I bleeding if you are the one?

You said this is over, you said you were done

But I know in your heart I’m still number one

So sing me this melody, this melody of hate

Pull out your new strings, and I’ll hear you just play

Play on; play on the strings of your favourite guitar

Play on; play all the notes of this broken heart

You said this is over, you said you were done

So why am I bleeding if you are the one?

The author's comments:

Sometimes life can be extremely unfair. Millions of people eveyday are forced to face fears from the ones they care about. Escape; escape is an outlet these ones may try to find, and I know personally how writing became my escape. I hope that these words can touch someoned heart and help them to live for themselves and not anyone else.
