In The Dark
Me, I used to be your ecstasy,
the one who made you dream.
Silenced all your screams
and made you whole.
But now, it seems as though we've drifted apart,
broke each other's hearts
Living on our own,
no one to turn to.
Life kicks out people for a reason –
some meant for a lifetime, some for a season.
And there's no straight way to your heart –
only promises made in the dark.
Me, my sanity is torn,
miracles unborn.
This raging storm
has no end.
In the end, there will always be another plan.
I’ll keep doing all I can.
But I'm a star
and I'm falling.
In the depths of your mind,
you left something too far behind.
And there's no other way to your heart,
only to be whispered in the dark.
Crazy, pitiful lies –
your words they cut like knives.
If I could change fate,
I'd choose death over heartbreak.
In the dark,
in the dark,
there's a feeling I get when I'm with you that makes me burst into flames and sparks.
In the dark,
in the dark,
there's a lesson learned, memories burned, that's left me scarred
in the dark.
You've awakened me out of the dark.
