Come Save Me
I’m stranded in this gruesome place
I cannot recognize
Abandoned and lonely I stay
Though no one hears my cries
As I walk through this wasteland
of wilderness and desolation
I am consumed with anguish
I walk this road with hesitation
Chorus:
A flaw like me stands on the grave of dreams
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
Weary is my voice as I continue to plea
My only hope now is if you come and save me
There’s more pain here than at the last turn
And as agony and torment spews from my pores
I wonder how much more should I endure...
To get that sympathy of yours
Until I’m enveloped in grief
Buried alive on my feet
Dirt in my eyes, nose, mouth, and lungs
I won’t throw up my flag in defeat
Chorus:
A flaw like me stands on the grave of dreams
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
Weary is my voice as I continue to plea
My only hope now is if you come and save me
I’m tired to my bones and beyond
My swollen eyes no longer see
And my wings of escape are broken...
Like a newborn fledgling falling free
But still somewhere I think there is
My battered hope a fragile seed
It waits for that enticing day
When the light held captive will be freed
Chorus:
A flaw like me stands on the grave of dreams
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
Weary is my voice as I continue to plea
My only hope now is if you come and save me
What right do they think they have?
Treating me like that
It’s not the body they hurt
The victim’s soul they attack
Why have we not been created equally?
Someone please explain to me
Racism, discrimination and prejudice
Is all this really necessary?
Chorus:
A flaw like me stands on the grave of dreams
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
Weary is my voice as I continue to plea
My only hope now is if you come and save me
You locked eyes with me that very bitter, gruesome night
And they dared you to turn away
From the injustice, inequalities, ignorance
Move on to some romantic scene that lives outside the gray
You tasted grief and empathy
And the mix was all too vile
More bitter than any sympathy
Cranking out disquiet and bile
Chorus:
A flaw like me stands on the grave of dreams
My shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
Weary is my voice as i continue to plea
My only hope now is if you come and save me
