Asleep
It’s like reaching for a lightswitch
I know isn’t there
listening for the footsteps of the ghost who lived in there
in this empty shell of who I used to be
in this hollow place where I don’t want to dream
where I just want to fall asleep
and I just want to find some peace
in this lonely world where the billboards burn
and no one hears you scream
tired of fighting just to breathe
wish I could fall asleep
and though I’d like to believe
I’m only dreaming
of who I’ll never be
‘till I fall asleep
why don’t I stay asleep
I could run forever
but I won’t get far from here
and I could hurt forever
but you’ll never see my tears
and I just want to fall asleep
and I just want to find some peace
in this lonely world where the billboards burn
and no one hears you scream
tired of fighting just to breath
just want to fall asleep
