Praying For You

See all he wanted was something to call his home,
He didn’t want much,
He didn’t need money, shiny cars, or house in Rome,
All he wanted was just a touch,

Of unconditional, I was bought with a price, everlasting, Love,
You see it’s something this guy’s never had,
See he wishes he just had a dad,
He doesn’t quite understand why he’s here,

So he tries to flush it out with one more beer,
He’s been to church but doesn’t understand how anyone would want to save him,
And at most he might shed a tear,
Not his sinful ways that he knows he can’t keep to himself for long,

Father God I know he knows you are there,
He started praying but he hasn’t in a week,
Lord he’s been focusing on the things of the world to make him happy but give him a prayer,
Because right now his view of you is to meek,

Because just the other day,
He was in the midst of sinners and did not discuss you,
Because he says they wouldn’t listen to him,
Because his past is full of things that would disgust you,

You see he thinks he’s gotta clean up his life first,
I told him I used to think the same way too,
I thought I had to change my life first,
But Christ changed me and with this sin I’m through.
