Departure
“Exodus”
On my flight I looked below
To see the gem that’s been bestowed
Is this where we built the roads?
Is this sphere the true abode?
Natural science closed in on me
Once again I had to leave
They never know where to cleave
They barely know what to conceive
Packed my bags to escape
Toying with intricate shapes
They try to heal the cuts and scrapes
Avoiding tears they close the drapes
A sextillion people waking in a crowd
Orchestral display of the epitome of loud
All at once I venture, try to hear the sounds
Look down at my feet then look all around
What is this brawl, what have they found?
I see a bloodstain on the shroud
Subdivided at my side
Man will never break my stride
This feelings is always bona fide
So very deep from inside
Combating the thoughts I try to block
Making changes, I am not a jock
Spending trillions to buy my stock
They realize, and then they mock
I climb the wall, reach for a vine
Hoping all solutions align
So many methods yet to try
Don’t walk away, please don’t cry
Wastelands so close but so very far
They wish upon a falling star
A caravan of luxury cars
They seek advice from movie stars
They heard a statement then tried to concede
Hoping to get better things they planted the seeds
If only they knew they can’t grow a money tree
Maybe then the elites would finally see
Once again the line has been crossed
Another moral, another value lost
I can’t believe another fact has been tossed
I thought they’d give up and finally exhaust
Their rising flags are down to a fray
But all the while they continue to play
I hope I live to see another day
I want to see them be told yes they may
I hope to see the lights across the water
For a guiding ship to deliver the fathers
To see the sons and see the daughters
To see the enemies and others
Will they ever truly strive?
Then perhaps they’d really thrive
To really see and take a dive
And take a break from their vibe
Abandon the ethics of the world
Let the dusty scrolls be unfurled
Listen to the boys, listen to the girls
Unafraid of their treasures hurled
All at once I realize what seems
Recognize fulfillment of so many dreams
Finding answers always takes a team
When remedies are bursting out the seams
They try solve problems with kings and queens
Truth does not always go with memes
