How could you do
What you should never do?
Forsaking me
blind now I can't even see
Why I should try to leave
without saying goodbye
I know things are tough
But wasn't I enough?
Cutting like a knife
You told me to get out of your life
With a cold hard stare
I could see
How much you really didn't care

One thing burns only for
Something better to begin again
Losing faith only to
Remember being saved
See her face only to
Know that nothing could replace
Fear in a smile only to
Realize we're only here a while

I forgive you
For all that you put me through
To hurt me in the end
When you said I was your friend
You're not deaf but I know you can't hear
so I'll make it very clear
As slowly as the world turns
To me only one thing burns

One thing burns only for
Something better to begin again
Losing faith only to
Remember being saved
See her face only to
Know that nothing could replace
Fear in a smile only to
Realize we're only here a while

But starting everything new again, I can see
I've finally found the one that can restore me
This time I can be thankful when I pray
That now I'm growing stronger each and everyday
And with her I can say

One thing burns only for
Something better to begin again
Losing faith only to
Remember being saved
See her face only to
Know that nothing could replace
Fear in a smile only to
Realize we're only here a while
