Lost My Friend
I lost my friend to a mental disease
Her abusive boyfriend is all that she needs
And now I lay alone reading the (in this case pronounced thee)
Note that she sent, says she doesn’t need me
She says she doesn’t need no one at all
Says that her screwed up boyfriend now breaks her falls
I recall the way she used to be
She’d always tear up and cry on me
What could I do?
When you had told me to
Get away, get lost, say ado?
What could I do?
What could I say?
If you want to let your self die away
The lies, the truths, our shattered youths
These I’ll still take to my grave
I loved you but you didn’t love me
I won’t there, next time you need me
My purpose in life, at her beck and call,
In case she grabbed a knife and her caused her downfall
Abilify and Prozac did nothing to ease
All her pain and suffering and her suicidal tendencies
In and out of those grey padded walls
I wrote her letter upon letter, dialed call after call
You were committed for so long, and I missed you, you see?
But now you want nothing to do with me
What could I do?
When you had told me to
Get away, get lost, say ado?
What could I do?
What could I say?
If you want to let your self die away
The lies, the truths, our shattered youths
These I’ll still take to my grave
I loved you but you didn’t love me
I won’t there, next time you need me
For so long I was your consensual slave
I did whatever you wanted, and tried not to misbehave
For an on and off friendship, it was nice while it lasted
I wanted to make you happy, but now I’ve been outcasted
My love for you did not prevail
Not stronger than yours for a boy who belongs in jail
A nineteen year old pedophile who has no friends
You met in a hospital of a psychiatric trend
What could I do?
When you had told me to
Get away, get lost, say ado?
What could I do?
What could I say?
If you want to let your self die away
The lies, the truths, our shattered youths
These I’ll still take to my grave
I loved you but you didn’t love me
I won’t there, next time you need me
I’ll miss you, girl. Old buddy old pal
I’ll remember how you hid yourself from the rest of the crowd
But the one thing I know that I won’t miss
Is the guilt I felt when you slashed your wrists
What could I do?
When you had told me to
Get away, get lost, say ado?
What could I do?
What could I say?
If you want to let your self die away
The lies, the truths, our shattered youths
These I’ll still take to my grave
I loved you but you didn’t love me
I won’t there, next time you need me
