The Voice Without Show
A single word heard;
Not my imagination.
No one around me.
I run down the stairs.
“You’re just imagining it.”
My parents were wrong.
A few suns go down.
I’m standing in the middle.
The same word is heard.
By myself again;
It’s the second time around.
I heard what I heard.
I keep my mouth shut.
No one will believe me,
But I am not scared.
A room next to mine.
Looking at my reflection;
This is the third time.
It’s a mystery,
One that has never been solved.
Haven’t heard it since.
The voice is shy now.
Will the voice ever come back?
I always wonder.
Did it need my help?
Maybe it’s found its way home.
The voice without show.
