Newton's First Law
The stars aligned against my wishes,
arranging and positioning themselves in ways that went against everything I wanted.
Every moment and sign of happiness was ruined by an outside force.
Newton’s law said if I was in motion,
I would remain in motion unless something came and stopped me.
I found this to be true in every moment I became euphoric.
Smiles,
laughs,
and a mood so bright.
It all came crashing down,
tumbling down,
breaking down.
I came to expect it,
a wild storm after a good day.
I awaited the low moods more than the highs,
because after all,
that was all I knew.
A need for change became evident,
the need for correction was stronger than ever before.
I had the desire to look at the stars with hope,
no longer fear.
Maybe the outside force was fear,
fear created by my own sick brain.
Newton’s first law would never warn you of how it could correlate with emotions,
but after the first half of the law is stated,
we hear the second half.
You will stay at rest if not pushed to do otherwise.
