Her curly hair up
In a clip
Greeting us the same
As when we were kids
“My babies!!”
With an embracing hug
The crackling fire
And smell of sweet cookies
Singing happy birthday
And waiting for grandma
To yell “faster”
As she did every time
She’s my inspiration
My best friend
My greatest hello
And my hardest goodbye
