Ringing In My Ears
There’s a ringing in my ears
Louder every day
The watercolor sky
Always painted grey
The grass that once was green
Now weeps and moans at my feet
There’s a ringing in my ears
Louder every day
The wind carries me
I am a simple grain of salt
I do not need necessities
I am grown from the ground,
I was taught from the trees
I shed no tears, it’s who I am
The wind carries me
I am a simple grain of salt
I am a rock, I am an island
I am alone, I am deserted
This gift, this burden
The blistering pain of who I am
A poet, a painter,
A monster with a pen
I am a rock, I am an island
I am alone, I am deserted
Those messy lines
Those scribbled poems
Walking down
The sidewalk
Avoiding the cracks
Down the street
The sun too bright, the voices loud
I want to hide, I want to run
I cannot change whom I’ve become
A monster with a pen
Those messy lines
Those scribbled poems
I live a life of simplicity
A supernatural ability
I take the sky
I fill it with rhymes
Verses, rhythms, obssesively
The ground I walk on
The marks I make
I am a seamstress
I sew the world, filling it with music
Filling it with poetry
I live a life of simplicity
A supernatural ability
There’s a ringing in my ears
Louder every day
As I reach up to the sky
Always painted grey
And I give no splash of color
No cheery happiness
I give what I can get
I write what I cannot see
I am the secret murderer
A monster with a pen
