The Cycle
It’s a non-stop cycle
Waking up at 5:30 in the morning
Dragging my eyes open
But yet I’m stuck in bed like glue
The water streams down my throat
As it’s dry as a desert
the cold breeze sends goosebumps all around me
I flip through the channels
Only to find pointless infomercials
6:37 am, I leave my home
Mentally preparing myself what may come ahead
Staring out the same window
Losing myself in my thoughts
Even if I take the same path everyday
Sitting at the same table for the same amount of time
Going to the same math class
With all the familiar faces and voices
Going home at the same time
Barely awake once I step through that door
But soon I will flee
I can’t wait to be free from this non-stop cycle
