Life
The housewife claimed
the official dedication
of the head cold remedy
making amends with the clay jugs
that were filled with
tea poured from a silver pot.
The girls with hair
that burned as brightly
as an opera house fire
warned that just like their hair,
they wouldn’t go quietly.
The paisley patterned bruises
that stood out in
a sea of freckles
on the tender skin
of Mr. Skullhead
reminded the chubby fingers
to stay cautious.
