Day in the Life
Her eyes filled with a somber tone.
Her silent voice written as words on cardboard-
Hungry hands shaking,
the heavy change making a faint noise
against the few pieces of hefty green paper.
Please help me.
She asks silently.
Negligent people
leave her in the wake,
making their footprints on her
The grime gives her the little warmth she can get,
unbothered by the cold masses of people glaring at her.
She admires those who help,
hoping she can live through her dark time.
She holds tight to her cup and to her dreams,
left invisible to the rest who pass by.
