Dear Future Me
Dear Future Me,
I hope you're breathing right again,
and that you only have troubles
when someone is so beautiful,
they take your breath away.
Dear Future Me,
I hope your heart-beats in rhythm again,
and it's only too fast
when you're in love,
and only too slow,
when you're in the safety of someone's arms.
Dear Future Me,
I hope you've found your home.
The one with arms for front doors,
and light glimmering in their eyes,
just like the porch light used to.
Dear Future Me,
I hope you're doing well now.
I hope you're safe at home,
with bright eyes and a heartbeat,
that I've kept beating all this time
just for you.
