Coffee
They say that I’m addicted,
I need it to look alive before noon.
I won’t deny that I crave it,
the thought of caffeine makes me swoon.
A Monday morning without fresh coffee,
can’t seem to do the trick.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
any day I’m up before six.
Wake me up,
for my daily dose.
Spoonful of sugar,
the perfect cup of roast.
Join me for a cup of coffee,
under clouds of wintry gray.
Or we could sip it in the sun if you’d prefer,
I’ll drink my coffee anytime, anywhere, any day.
