It Must Be Found
A broken bird in the gray dreamland
Of remembered days, current loss, and heartbreaks to come.
The deep and dark tear
At the bird, only to cease at dawn.
Returning at dusk with a vengeance
Branded in its core.
The bird flies high in the bright sky,
Soon falling into a moonlit pit of pain and sorrow.
Hope is buried in the pit along with the shredded pieces
Of past, present, and future.
The bird must dig for the hope,
Or it will never be found.
If it isn’t found,
The bird will be swallowed up into the dreamland-
Never to be seen again,
Drowning in the darkness.
