Foretold Lies in High School
It’s early Monday morning
Events of the weekend
Replay in my head
Stares all around
Hushed whispers catch my attention
I don’t feel comfortable in my own skin
Everyone knows who I am
But all for the wrong reasons
Judgmental glares,
Harsh laughs,
Mocking me
I feel alone
Maybe it’ll end
I can be invisible again
As I continue down the hallway
Words written in marker
Scribbled across my locker
Girls giggling,
Guys snapping photos,
Flash, flash, flash
Humiliation fills me
Tears burn my eyes
With my head down
I turn
Walk away
Never to return again
