Memories
I delve farther and farther
Each time slightly more dangerous
Than the last
Closer, but still many miles to go
Darker and darker it all becomes
Each event blurring with the next
But my eye is on the prize
I willingly allow it all to blur
Even though I know I will never get it back
Sometimes I am successful
I get to revel in my prize
Even for only a few moments
While sometimes I fail my mission
And disappointment washes over me
And my prize disappears behind me
Forever
I will always go on my journeys
Until I have no prize to find
Because if I don’t keep trying
I will never find happiness
One my one journey
The journey that really matters
