The Ocean
I once took a walk by the ocean,
And noticed as I strolled,
That the ocean is a harsh force,
Its powers big and bold.
The waves could bring us floods,
And dangers to us all,
If the tide goes out too far,
A tsunami is destined to fall.
The creatures that live beneath it,
Are scary and rather mean,
Some can sting and bite you,
Others are never seen.
But the ocean is also friendly,
With children who come and go,
To splash and play in the water,
Their faces a happy glow.
Others enjoy sailing,
Along the ocean blue,
They set out in the harbor,
To go on a journey or two.
I once took a walk by the ocean,
And after my sauntering was done,
I realized the ocean is something special,
That brings us all great fun!

I wrote this poem to show the contrast between the Ocean's pros and cons. People sometimes tell me that they don't like the ocean because they are scared of it. I wanted to show them that it truely isn't that bad in this poem.
