Look into the Eyes of a Shark
In the distance, quite so deep,
Dark fins appear on a torpedo shaped figure
Stealthily swimming through the ocean,
With a lashing tail and alluring eyes
Beautiful but menacing the animal wades
On this planet for over 200 million years,
We are killing this innocent creature
It hunts the old, weak, and sick,
Helping to keep the prey in good condition
Magnificent, maligned, and misunderstood,
This superior keeps the ecosystem balanced,
Allowing other marine life to maintain healthy levels
Gliding through the water,
Its skin rough like a lions tongue
Staining the tides with blood,
A carcass of seal lies in its belly
Satiated, the shark continues on,
Circling and staring out into the sapphire sea
