Shadows
Anytime there is a light, there is a shadow.
It does not matter how far away the light is,
Or how small it is.
There is always a shadow.
Just as in life, when there is good,
There is always bad,
And it does not matter how big the good is;
The bad will be there.
If there are three hundred flickering candles,
There will be three hundred dancing shadows,
And the darkness will equal the light,
And there will be harmony.
Never is there a time when the black is more
Or the white is more.
Always there is balance,
Between good and bad, night and day, dark and light.
Polar opposites cancel,
And then you see how the world finds a way
To keep you in a haze of optimism
While you are blind to the horrors;
In the same way you look at a terrible day
And in the morning of the next,
You realize in retrospect
That the day can be laughed at easily.
Just as there is yin and there is yang,
There is a shadow for each light,
And it does not matter how big the bad is;
The good will be there.
