HE SAVED ME
I stood there shocked from the sound of the gun,
He jumped in front of me,
He saved my life,
I couldn’t save his,
He gave me a chance to live,
I took that chance and gave it away,
For I didn’t want to stay,
Without him in my life
Would only be a
Knife stuck and twisting and turning in
my soul with every day that passes,
I saved her life,
She couldn’t save mine,
I was shot down
All she could do was cry,
I don’t regret what I did that day,
After all I didn’t want to stay,
I gave her a chance to live,
She took that chance and let it be,
Now she only has part of me,
The one little locket I wore on my neck,
The one I got from a man who saved my life,
A father to her,
A man she has lost,
Has now gone away with a mother who has passed,
Her love goes on stronger with every day,
After all she had chosen to stay.
