The Pain of Existance
It Hurts
The pain of existence
of stress
and heartbreak
and yet
it hasn’t broken
for it is still enraged
and hurt
and tired
and wildly aware
sharp and fresh
like spearmint on a cold morning
it is pierced, yet strengthens
for every beat, the frost spreads
hardening, fortifying
the pain dulls, a cold ache
the walls close
silence, at last.
