Parallel
I watched her break
From the inside out
Her body pleading for her to stop
But, her mind forced her to go
Mixed tears of
Determination and desperation
A smile that screamed for help
However,
Nobody heard
Or that’s how it seemed
Little did she know that
I understood
More than she would ever know
As though our minds
Were mirrors
Focusing on everything
That we weren’t
Far from the 10.0
We were expected to reach
They pushed us until
We collapsed
From exhaustion
How strong do they think
We are?
Undefeatable, apparently
Helplessly I witnessed her
Plastered smile fade
The worst part?
I knew she was breaking
But I was too broken
To help
