Masters of Disguise
The clouds look down upon us,
And they sigh heavy sighs.
They see all of our mistakes,
With their omniscient eyes.
They know where we have been,
And they know where we are going.
Nothing can surprise them,
Their eyes are all-knowing.
But when something upsets them,
They fill with strong emotion.
And every tear that slips out,
Drops into the ocean.
We feel the tears all over,
Pouring from the sky.
We raise our heads to look up,
And watch them as they cry.
They cry until they can’t
And they weep until we wonder,
If the rain will ever quit,
Along with all the thunder.
But their tears always slow,
And eventually they stop
We check the skies again,
And feel the last rain drop.
Their eyes control what we do,
And where we want to go.
They only want what’s best for us,
The clouds always know.
They change as much as we do,
But they change in shape and in size.
We cannot recognize them,
They’re masters of disguise.
