Pure and Simple
Lying next to him is different.
Simply “hanging out” with him fills her with joy.
The love he has for her is different.
It’s not the love he has for the girl he is with,
It is unique and special.
It is love that comes with trust and respect.
She isn’t the one he wants to be with,
But she is the one he loves to be around.
She doesn’t fight for a different kind of love,
She is happy with the love he gives her now.
When he kisses her forehead and hugs her she feels safe.
He would protect her if she needed it,
And she would let him go if he needed her to.
They love each other,
Not with passion,
Or romance,
Or longing.
No, this is a strange love.
It is just love,
Pure and simple.
