Voice
Sweetly she sits and ponders under the creaking willow about the things that once were. thinking back to yesterday, when words were sweet and sky's were blue. Before there was me, before there was you. At the very first page of our story. When flowers were bright and thriving in the gleams of light. When glances took breaths away instead of bringing jealousy. The aroma of the air was enticing. Yellow dandelions frolic in the breeze, sending small fairies to dance upon the tall emerald blades. Looking up my view is blocked by the solid arms of my wooden guardian. the voices of my ancestors linger in the footprints i leave behind. The drums of war are silent. And peace is at my heart.
