You Don't Have What It Takes
You honestly thing you have the guts to make it?
You haven’t worked hard at something a day in your life.
I’m the one who stayed up until the early hours of the morning writing.
I don’t think you even can name a classic book.
They warned you about working hard, and talked about how to not slack off.
But you’re doing it anyway, still thinking you can get by.
Maybe you could be possibly be more talented than I am, but you’ve never tried.
I’m the one taking the hard classes.
Just when I though I reached my breaking point,
I have to establish it again.
Just in order to keep my sanity.
You don’t want to be a writer, you couldn’t work hard enough.
To you it’s an easy way out, an easy way of life.
To me it shapes me into the person I am.
You think an editor is your biggest demon,
But if you were a writer you would know
The only person you have to overcome is yourself.
Do you even know who you are?
One thing is for sure,
I create myself through my writing.
Something you’ll never be able to do.
