Closure
Shut the door
For it’s ajar and you’re letting the heat in,
Into my icy heart.
Your warming my muscles,
Letting me feel again.
You’re prolonging my suffering,
Giving me false hopes-
Not from what you say, but from what you do not.
All I want is to be numb
Or to feel your wrath.
Your indifference does nothing for me.
It simply keeps me up at night.
Head spinning,
Questions burning,
Doubts arising,
Put me down!
Put me out!
Snuff out my flame.
Why must you give me oxygen?
Don’t let me grow.
Don’t cut me partway.
Pull my roots, so I’ll stay away.
Open yourself up, and shut me down.
Bring me peace by bringing me pain.
Give me closure.
