The Greatest Sin
There’s a bird
Caged in me
And one day
Ill set it free
I open the cavity
In which it sleeps
I open the door
The metal creaks
It wants out
I know this well
Freedom it seeks
But never tell
Because I’ve tried
Tried setting it free
But in the end
It stays in me
For not only bars
Hold it in
But those thick chains
Of deep dark sin
They choke its neck
Throw it back
No escape
Forever black
Deep inside
It flutters within
This is my greatest sin
