I am a poet
I am a poet
And being a poet
Does not solely entail writing words themselves
But expressing myself through them
People tell me
I never let loosex
I do not
But that is because I am a poet
My feet are planted
Their roots digging deep into the Earth
And my hands at my side
Holding in my emotion
Trying not to let them out the cracks of my body
As a poet
I can not let loose and show my emotion
Due to the fact that as a poet
I simply have too many
If I let them go they will drown me
So I must contain them
Put them away
Hide them away in my very own body
But hiding them kills me
Poisoning me slowly
So I must release them
Slowly so as not to drown myself
And I do this through words
Through poetry
I am a poet
And being a poet
Does not solely entail writing words themselves
But expressing myself through them
