Aberration
at first
I hardly noticed the aberration
you were fresh fire from
Prometheus, my beacon, my life.
but when I turned to the sky
perhaps to steal another wish
my stars were gone—vanished!—no longer
where I left them. I wished
on blackness to unearth them again
to no avail and now
with my life so rearranged
I’m not sure anything’s truly changed
