Forever and Never
They loved each other more than Adam and Eve,
They spent their time together until they had to leave.
They’ve been together for four and a half years,
That time was filled with laughter and tears.
As they walked hand-in-hand to their spot by the hedge,
She wondered why he seemed a little on edge.
As she was about to sit down,
He knelt to the ground.
When he got on one knee,
The butterflies were set free.
Then he pulled out a box,
Just as quick as a fox.
Inside it was a ring,
That was fit for a king.
She held her breath,
Like there was no more air left.
She was so shocked,
Time felt like it stopped.
He said, “you are my world, so I’m asking you please.
You know that I love you, will you marry me?”
She choked on the word she tried to speak,
All of the sudden she felt so weak.
She tried even harder, even though it was almost hopeless,
But she managed to get out one word, which was “yes.”
He put the ring on her hand,
Thinking, “this went better than planned.”
He picked her off the ground,
And spun her ‘round and ‘round.
They told everyone in sight,
Their hearts were in flight.
The rest of their lives were long and slow,
They love always continues to grow.
They both always said, “Our love started with forever,
And it ended never.”
