Escape
I'm so afraid
To sleep at night.
For in my dreams, I know you'll haunt
Each corner and hidden place.
But each night finds me
Escaping to bed earlier,
And earlier
To find relief from the pain,
The torturous tears of each waking hour.
And even earlier,
To see your perfect face;
To be held in your comforting arms once more.
