The Silent Disintegration
The room
was a quite light blue.
The beds freshly made,
the windows always open,
while the vibrant sun
illuminated
the room.
Stuffed animals everywhere.
Comfort,
hope,
tranquility.
Always a mess
but never
for others
to see.
Like our relationship.
The German figurines of little boys and girls
became our guardians through the night,
when the monsters came out.
No dark shadows.
Only the laughter of two children,
two sisters.
As I remember her
loving care,
her brown eyes,
her hugs,
how her personality, so vibrant
made the sun jealous
and how she was filled with so much enthusiasm
that any five year old
paled in comparison,
I remember
how we've
drifted.
The walls turned
to a deep blue.
The door
and windows,
always closed.
The comfort,
hope,
tranquility,
faded to just mere
memories.
The door closed
for the pain
of losing our time
together
was to hard
to be
reminded of.
“I love you.”
