Crashed
Spring break finally
Comes and we
Trek over to
Sunny, beautiful Florida
It is time
We walk from
Our grandparents’ house
To the beach
Hoping it’s high-tide
We climb up
The stairs and
See the beautiful
Atlantic Ocean waiting
Just for us
A chill runs
Down our backs
As we sprint
To the water
And wait to
Crash into the
Big, majestic waves
Dad yells to
Be careful but
We just keep
Sinking our feet
Into the sand
Until they reach
The cold water
I follow my
Older siblings out
Farther into a
Different world full
Of new creatures
The first big
Wave comes and
We all jump
Into the air
And fall back
A little bit
We do this
Again and again
Switching off from
Jumping to diving
To just letting
The force of
The ocean move
Us back and
Forth while we
Don’t even notice
An hour goes
By and we
Are so tired
That we have
To go back
To the house
As sad as
We are we
Know we’ll be
Back the next
Day just to
Crash into waves
