Leave It In The Past
Feelings of regret start to fill my body
You constantly remind me of the things I did
Forgetting of the things I’m doing
Expect me to sit there like a shy little kid
No. it no longer works that way.
Yes. I’ve made mistakes
I refuse to relive my past every time you get mad
After a while it’s time to grow up and let it go
Church week in and week out but yet you seem to forget a main principle of our beliefs
Feelings of doubt circle my head and leave me confused
Trust is a thing of the past
I’ve grown and made progress
Instead of you doing the same you go backwards and make things harder
Never admitting to your mistakes but expecting me to admit to mine
It’s constantly insinuated that I’m a child
Why am I having these thoughts and feelings?
I just want peace and serenity
Why wait?
The past is the past
Leave it there and move on.
